What Cat Wore | Twenty Six

Happy Birthday to meeee! Today I am twenty six, and I've had the loveliest birthday. Today I got to see my family all together, see my boyfriend and have a meal out as a family! This was the best present I could have received today, simply because I truly appreciate this precious and uncommon family time ♥ Being my birthday I've developed a little tradition of buying myself a new outfit to wear for the day and today I thought I'd share what I've been wearing all day with you before I pass out from eating so much buffet food... On to the outfit talk....!

I'd been eyeing up this burgundy corduroy pinafore from Topshop for a couple of months now, and wondering what I would get myself to wear today this instantly came to mind. After trying it on in the shop I fell in love with it, and I just had to have it. I was going to dress this outfit up completely with a gorgeous shirt or blouse but I wanted to keep my outfit pretty but also simple and comfortable.  I settled for investing in a long sleeved white top and bought jewellery to add a little detail to my look! This morning my mum gave me these gorgeous boots too for my birthday present which I'm totally in love with. I'd always wanted a pair of these beauts and these fit exactly what I was looking for. I felt like they just really completed this look. I know it's not the most glam or smart/casual outfit but on my birthday I like to be happy and comfortable in what I'm wearing and this is right up my street for my current style! Though the family joked that I looked like Fireball Super Mario. Can't lie... I kinda did, haha!'
In all honesty though, I was dreading today simply because my birthday hasn't been so great over the years but this year seemed to be different. I lowered my expectations to nothing and I went with the flow. Being a Sunday I was secretly excited that my family wouldn't be working and praying nothing would turn up to change things. Everything went so much better than I thought. I really enjoyed my day, and I've got some beautiful gifts from friends, family and my boyfriend I will be quick to share with you! Thank you to anyone who sent me beautiful birthday messages too! Love you allllll ♥
